Hi! I’m Rachel, a 29-year-old young professional living in the Washington, D.C., area.
I’m excited to share my love of Scentsy Fragrance, explore my Christian faith, and–perhaps most of all–chronicle my journey to get healthy and fit.
I’ve been a Scentsy Fragrance consultant since August 2011, and I absolutely love the company and its products! Scentsy is led by an amazing couple with great integrity, and they seek to help us grow professionally and personally. The company recently started Scentsy Wellness to encourage and inspire consultants to live healthfully.
I’ve been a Christian for as long as I can remember, and my faith shapes so much of my life. I really started exploring the depths of my faith in college, which led me to start attending an Anglican church plant in the Pittsburgh area. I currently attend an Evangelical Anglican church in Northern Virginia. Along with evangelicalism and Anglicanism, I’m extremely interested in learning more about the person of Jesus, Catholicism, church history, the church fathers, and how religious faith is changing in America.
Unfortunately, it also seems like I’ve been struggling with my weight for as long as I can remember. Actually, it’s been more like 10 years, but it’s been 10 years too long. As a Christian, I am called to live a healthy lifestyle because my body is a gift from God. I am called to be a good steward of this precious resource, which will follow me into eternity. I am looking forward to getting healthy and fit the old-fashioned way!
The healthier I am and the better I feel, the more confident I will be to serve God by serving others and share Scentsy with other (potential) fragrance lovers.
Some thoughts guiding me…
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” — 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. Don’t complain.” — Maya Angelou
Thank you for joining me on this journey!
